ReadCon was promoted as an invitation to "party at the library." The best part about the event was seeing teenagers, parents, and children enjoying the library on a Saturday evening.
Firestone Colorado is a long haul from Colorado Springs. The trip was made easier when I met friend and fellow Five Star author Liesa Malik http://liesamalik.com/wp_lmalik/ at her home. She drove the rest of the trip, cutting my drive in half.
Neither of us knew what to expect. This was a new event for us, a trip into the unknown. We spotted the library at last, rising from an expanse of prairie. Friendly library staff and volunteers met us at the door. The facility is only 8 years old, and had a crisp, fresh feel. After we arranged our tables, Liesa and I wandered around meeting other authors, and chatting with friends from Rocky Mountain Mystery Writers of America.
