NaNoWriMo 2023

I have a love-hate relationship with NaNoWriMo - National Novel Writing Month. My first foray into this writing madness was in 2011. I completed the 50,000 words with a novel that has yet to become published. I participated in NaNoWriMo on and off over the next decade.

​The original point for me was to push my way to completion of a novel draft in a month. Once I knew I could FINISH something, I slacked off on NaNo-ing. 

Now I'm back, not to prove I can finish a novel draft, but because I have so many drafts going at once, I need to laser-focus on one project. I may not make it to 50,000 words by Thursday midnight, but I nearly have the bones of a draft completed.

This year, I wanted to push through to a first draft of the third book in my Rose Creek Mystery series, The Body in the Hayloft. I've made it to 46,265. I'm in the final push to the finish line. More coffee, please!
