I received a nice review on the second stop for Stone Cold Case - A Rock Shop Mystery. Here's a bit of what reviewer Hilary Koepenick said: Stone Cold Case is a cozy mystery that manages to avoid some of the trouble that genre tends to run into. The characters are surprisingly believable, and never fully fit the stereotypes that would have been easy to draw on in such a case. The small town politics and intrigue are fascinating, and the geological information (gems, rocks, minerals – geodes!) is both accurate and intriguing. More than once I found myself looking up gems she mentioned and being shocked by their beauty. Blog stop #1: http://bit.ly/1XFPMm5 The release date for Stone Cold Case - A Rock Shop Mystery is fast approaching! The second novel in my series will be available September 16. To celebrate, I participated in a book release party with authors Christine Goff, Liesa Malik, and Patricia Coleman. We had a great time introducing librarians, book club members and bookstore owners to our novels. We also invited our hard-working Beta readers and critique group partners to play games, win prizes, and talk about our favorite books. My next strategy to introduce my new "baby" to the reading world is to go on a blog tour. In this new publishing landscape, authors spend more time promoting their fiction on blogs and via social media than in the traditional venue of book signings at book stores. You can see my entire tour here: http://www.rogercharlie.com/catherine-dilts-stone-cold-case The first stop on my blog tour is on My Two Cent's Worth Before Inflation. Author James Jackson was kind enough to interview me for his September 8 post. His interview questions were creative. One question asked which three not-well-known authors I recommend. To find out who the mystery authors are that I wish you would give a try, go here: http://blog.jamesmjackson.com/2015/09/catherine-dilts-guest-author.html I will update my blog each day that Stone Cold Case appears in the blogosphere. Hang on! It's going to be a fast and fun ride! 9/1/2015 1 Comment September already?Just a reminder - it is still summer. The season does not officially change to fall until September 23. So if you are in despair that you haven't completed your summer wish list, there is still time! As the release date for Stone Cold Case approaches, I am busier than ever. Saturday, I enjoyed participating in a four author book release party. Christine Goff, Liesa Malik, Patricia Coleman and I entertained our guests with games, food, and prizes. COMING SOON: my blog tour for Stone Cold Case. You can see the schedule here: http://www.rogercharlie.com/catherine-dilts-stone-cold-case The September blog tour will include reviews, interviews, and my own posts on a variety of topics. September 11-13 I will be at the Colorado Gold writers conference hosted by Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers. I am volunteering as a moderator, introducing two speakers and riding herd on the room. I am also honored to be on a new author panel. In between the writing activities there is my day job as an environmental technician. Some days I feel like I'm saving the planet, and other days the endless repetitive paperwork (or electronic-work - it's all on computer), is mindlessly boring. My garden is enjoying late summer heat, and producing quantities of cucumbers and zucchinis. Unusually plentiful rain has helped the weeds take over, but hidden inside that wall of green are vegetables galore. I hope you are enjoying the last weeks of summer. Get out there and do something fun! |
